Professionnal Tablet PC

In order to
satisfy professionnal users, professionnal tablet PC are different from
consumer tablet PC in many aspects.
1-
Daily and yearly usage of consumer and professional products are
different. When consumers rarely exceed 3 hours a day, and 1 year
warranty, professional users require often products for 8hours a day,
and ask for 3 years warranty.
This impacts the choice of many components, such as flash memory.
Consumer products use MLC flash, professional products use SLC flash
that have a much longer life and can support 10 times more writes than

2- Professional tablet PC must run applications using Windows 7 or XP,
Linux, or Android.
3- Professional tablet PC need to respond to rugged usage: such as
shock resistant, drop, water, dust, sun readability, low or high
temperature
4- Many accessories are necessaryfor various professional usages, such
as vehicule docking station, carry bag with opening and shoulder strap,
wall mount or forklift adapter, DC/DC converter for electrical vehicule
or truck batteries and so on
Consumer
tablet PCs are focused on leasure usage, such as games, internet
access, pictures, ebook, and do not respond to the reliability expected
by professional users or include features mentionned above.

The
name "Tablet PC" includes mutliple product categories. It was used by
Microsoft in 2001 to launch a product category which was a slate form
factor, with digitizer pen, running windows XP tablet. Other slates
that did not comply to Microsoft's definition were introduced : finger
touch slates instead of digitizers, other operating systems such as
windows XP embedded on flash, windows XP pro or windows CE.Net and
rarely Linux. Since 2005, the main computer brands use the
termTablet PC for convertible notebooks, which are regular notebooks
with a keyboard and a rotating LCD screen with touchsurface instead of
a regular LCD screen.
