Consumer and office PC and notebooks are designed to achieve two goals: offer the most powerful product at the best price.
These design objectives are shared with consumer electronics and smartphones; they impact the design of electronic components

 As a consequence, most electronic components are designed to be "cheaper and faster"

 Industrial Products are designed for other purposes :

- comply to environmental constraints to pring rugged products to market (temperature, water, dust, shocks, vibrations, drops, sun ...)
- stay in production for many years
- offer many options to respond to specific needs
Highest computing power is not the priority for industrial products
Prices are higher, because of "long term" componens and lower production volumes
